This Hakone area-wide campaign welcomes visitors traveling during the Chinese New Year holiday. Many special events have been planned for this period, so everyone please join in.
The Hakone Tozan Train is the only authentic mountain railway, running 8.9km between the mountains from Hakone-Yumoto to Gora in about 40 minutes.
Hakone Ropeway
The Hakone Ropeway connects mountain sightseeing spots on Hakone, and is a ride everyone should take at least once. It offers spectacular views of Mount Fuji on its way between Owakudani and Ubako.
Owakudani
Owakudani is a remnant of a volcano that was formed by a steam eruption about 3,000 years ago.
Hakone Sightseeing Cruise
These sightseeing boats are modeled after the European pirate ships of the 17th and 18th centuries. Each of the three distinctive ships runs a route across Lake Ashi.
Hakone Checkpoint
This facility was used in the Kamakura period (1192–1333) and Edo period (1603–1867) for taxation and inspection of travelers, who were mainly samurai and merchants.
Himeshara Hot Springs
Surrounded by forest, this outdoor bath allows visitors to soak while they enjoy nature. It is popular for its water, which changes with each season.
Gotemba Premium Outlets
This shopping center features about 200 name-brand shops. Customers can find their favorite products for 25–65% off.
The Outlets are conveniently reached by using the Hakone Tozan “Kanko-shisetsu-meguri” Bus or Odakyu Hakone Highway Bus (about 100 minutes, running directly from Shinjuku).
A special event corner will be open at Togendai Station, from 30 January – 1 February
