The Enoshima/Kamakura area is very popular for being a quick ride from Shinjuku. With many attractions, including the Enoshima Electric Railway (Enoden), Enoshima Aquarium and Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu Shrine, it’s the perfect destination for a day trip.
Seeing and Playing
1.Enoshima Aquarium

With Mount Fuji and Enoshima in the background, this aquarium lets visitors enjoy exciting performances by dolphins, whales and sea lions.
2.Enoshima Iwaya(grottos)

These grottos are formed by the erosion of ocean waves, and give a pleasantly mysterious mood.
3.Hase-dera temple

Out of the garden and up the stairs lies the revered Hase Kannon. From its view area, visitors can gaze out at Kamakura's town and sea.
4.Kamakura-gu shrine

By taking the tsuchiro (earthen prison) and treasure museum course, visitors can touch a piece of Kamakura's rich history.
5.Kamakura Museum of Literature

This museum exhibits items of the famed literary figures related to Kamakura.
6.Kaburaki Kiyokata Memorial Art Museum

This museum is the place where legendary Japanese painting artist Kiyokata Kaburaki created his works.
7.Enoshima Escar (Escalator)

Riding three escalators, visitors can comfortably reach the summit of Enoshima in a mere five minutes.
8.Enoshima Tenboutoudai (Enoshima Lighthouse and Observation Tower)/Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden

This observatory boasts a height of 60 meters, 360-degree glassed-in deck, as well as an outdoor floor where you can enjoy the view. The neighboring Samuel Cocking Garden features rare plants from all over the world.
9.Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu shrine

In 1828, the Shogun Tokugawa Ienari rebuilt the Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu shrine, and it is designated as a national important cultural asset.
Enoshima Electric Railway (Enoden)

This streetcar runs between Fujisawa and Kamakura, and is popular for its beautiful ocean and mountain views.

Valentine Island Enoshima - Jewelry of Shonan will be held!

In the Valentine Island Enoshima event, several hundred mirror balls are installed on Enoshima Island to paint the whole island with light. This mysterious space, from which countless lights emerge, is an artistic expression that attracts many visitors each year. To get to Enoshima, take the Odakyu line from Odakyu Shinjuku station to Katase-Enoshima station for around 1 hour, then walk for 20 minutes.
Sanrio Hello Kitty Greeting Event

In this event, the popular characters Hello Kitty and Daniel will appear at Enoshima Island, offering greetings, photo session, and small gifts for visitors.
Hello Kitty and Daniel appear 3 times per day, but the 3pm to 3:30pm session is particularly intended for overseas visitors, with a talk show as well as a photo session with Hello Kitty and Daniel for 20 persons. The first 100 visitors to present a web coupon will receive a gift of limited-release merchandise.
