Type 60000 (MSE)

Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd. was awarded the "Commendation Prize" in the rolling stock category at the 10th Brunel Awards, a prominent international design competition.
In 2008, it was conferred a Good Design Award from the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization.
The Brunel Awards:
An international competition to select recent outstanding achievements in railroad architecture, railroad vehicle designs, and other railroad-related categories. The competition is held once every 2 to 4 years. The 10th competition was held this year.
Good Design Award:
An overall design evaluation-recommendation system sponsored by Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization. This is the only award of its type in Japan.
This model was introduced in March 2008 as the first Limitedexpress train with reserved seats for service on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda line.
On weekdays it runs as a business Limitedexpress linking the Otemachi area with Hon-Atsugi/Karakida. On weekdays and holidays it runs as a sightseeing superexpress linking Kitasenju and Hakoneyumoto.

The cars are decorated in a Vermeer blue that shines brightly even underground, with a band of the vermillion orange emblazoned on the Romance car series. The train interior is elegantly designed with LED type lighting and wine-red carpets.
Amenities with diverse functions are provided for passenger comfort, including multipurpose restrooms usable by any type of person. Totally-enclosed type traction motors are also adopted to ensure noise reduction, in consideration of the environment of the residential area.

This seventh model in the new Romancecar series, called the VSE (Vault Super Express), incorporates various technologies to improve riding comfort. For example, the cars' domed-shaped ceilings with a height of 2.55 meters (45 centimeters higher compared to the Type 10000 Romancecar), together with observation deck seats for great views of the passing scenery and super-wide windows for uninterrupted vistas of the dynamic sights, offer passengers a pleasant ride.
The cars' livery is a gently shining silky white accented with a band of vermillion and orange, carrying over the signature Romancecar colors. The band, positioned high up under the car windows, gives the cars a dynamic feel and just the right touch of excitement.
Car No. 3 has three saloon compartments seating a total of 12 passengers.
Type 30000 (EXE)

"EXE" stands for "Excellent Express," the name of the sixth model in the new Romancecar series. The EXE 10-car trains are 200 meters long and have greatly increased passenger capacity. The EXE's sophisticated design, livery and comfortable interior appointments are just right for the Romancecar, which is popular not just for sightseeing but is also used by businesspeople for their daily commute. The EXE can be broken up into six- and four-car sections for added operational flexibility. The EXE is also the first Romancecar to adopt the single-arm pantograph.
Type 20000 (RSE)

This model, with attractive fluid lines and an array of high-tech functions, went into line service in 1991.
The combination high-decker and double-decker cars provide excellent visibility. They are also fitted with passenger service amenities such as screens for announcements and the most advanced audio-visual equipment.
Winner of the Blue Ribbon Award in 1992 for five consecutive models since the SE model.
Type 10000 (HiSE)

This model, distinguished by its bold coloring and styling, went into line service in 1987, effecting a complete change of the Romancecar's image. The full high-decker passenger cars offer wide panoramic views.

Type 7000 (LSE)

- Type 7000
- : Went into line service in 1980
The LSE went into line service in 1980.
This type basically follows the design of NSE cars, but modifications were made to the car front, driver's instrument console and control and braking mechanisms. Automated folding doors were also adopted for the entrances to the passenger cars.
