vacant seat browsing for Limited Express "Romancecar" (e-Romancecar)

    • (1) Browse Seat availability

      • STEP 01

        Access the website (e-Romancecar) and select "Browse Seat availability / New reservation / Purchase".

      • STEP 02

        Set your desired terms (date and time of travel / section to be used / number of people) and select "Browse Seat availability".

      • STEP 03

        Please check for Seat availability on your desired limited express.

      • STEP 02

        Set your desired terms (date and time of travel / section to be used / number of people) and select "Browse Seat availability".

        Please check for Seat availability on your desired limited express.

    • (2) Purchase

      • STEP 01

        After checking for vacant seats, please select the name of your desired train.

      • STEP 02

        Please make your selections in Seat Type, Specify Car Number, Window or Aisle Seat, and Purchase/Reserve.

        Next, please check "Agree" and click the "Next" button upon confirming the contents of the terms.

        By checking "Agree", you are regarded as having agreed to the contents of the terms.



        You can specify a seat.

        When specifying a seat:

        After checking "Select seats in the carriage you selected using a seating map" and clicking "Next", a seat map will appear so that you can specify a seat that you would like. (excludes some seats)

        • *You can display and make a selection in a seating map by specifying a carriage number.
        • *General seats can be specified from a seating map up to 45 minutes before departure times.


      • STEP 03

        When making a purchasePlease register your customer information (telephone number and email address), enter your credit card information (card number, expiration date, security code, and name (Romanized)), and select “Purchase”.

      • STEP 04

        Screen showing purchase procedure completion will be displayed.

        When boarding the train, print out this page and take the print-out together with the credit card used for purchase.

        If using a smartphone, the train can be boarded with this screen and the credit card.

        However, since this screen will not be displayed even after being bookmarked, please display it from "Confirmation of reservation".

    • (2) Purchase

      • STEP 01

        After checking for vacant seats, please select the name of your desired train.

      • STEP 02

        Please make your selections in Seat Type, Specify Car Number, Window or Aisle Seat, and Purchase/Reserve.

        Access the website (e-Romancecar), enter the telephone number and e-mail address you registered when placing the reservation, and select "Confirm booking".

      • STEP 02

        A list of your reservations will be displayed. From the link at the bottom of the purchase details, select "Refund" or "Change".

        User ID authentication is in place as a security measure. Contact will be made as soon as details have been confirmed.

      • STEP 03
        For changes

        The vacant seat browsing screen will be displayed, so please reset your desired terms (date and time of travel/section of use/number of people) and select "Browse vacant seats". Beyond this point, operations are the same as when reserving/purchasing tickets.

        Seats can also be selected from a seating map when changing trains.

        Details of your purchase will be displayed, so check the box next to the seat for which you would like a refund and then select "Next". Then select "Refund" on the detail confirmation screen to complete the refund procedure.

        • *A handling charge will be required for refunds.
        • *Please check the box for the seat for which you would like a refund.
        • *Please check all boxes when changing the seats for all people.
