Mt. Fuji & the Fuji Five Lakes

Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain, presents ever-changing faces throughout the four seasons. In the surrounding area are untouched nature, hot springs (onsen), amusement parks and many other attractions. The Fuji Five Lakes region is an area rich in natural scenery. The 5 lakes—Lake Kawaguchi, Lake Yamanaka, Lake Sai, Lake Motosu and Lake Shoji—lie at the foot of Mount Fuji. Each one offers a well-appointed resort atmosphere, with numerous facilities for everything from outdoor to cultural activities. The Fuji Five Lakes region can be reached in 2 hours from Tokyo by express bus service, and also by bus from Gotemba or Hakone.
