The Hakone Freepass is a pass that allows you to get on and off freely throughout the specified area.

Hakone, one of Japan´s most famous hot spring (onsen) areas and rich in unspoiled nature, is within easy traveling distance of Tokyo. The Hakone Freepass is a discount excursion ticket offering full coverage of the popular sightseeing destinations in Hakone. Hakone Freepass allows you to get on and off freely within a specified area, as well as providing discount admission to various attractions in the area, and also includes return transportation on the Odakyu Line. Validity is for 2 or 3 days. With Hakone Freepass, you can also ride on 8 different types of transport in the area, such as the Hakone Tozan Line and the Hakone Ropeway, allowing you the freedom to thoroughly explore Hakone.     The Hakone Freepass can be used on the following 8 transport facilities in the Hakone region.

    The Hakone Freepass allows you to get on and off freely.

    • *In case of inclement weather, the above-mentioned transport may not be operational for safety reasons.
    • Only one round-trip between your departure station and Odawara Station is allowed on the Odakyu Line.
    • Upon presentation of your pass you can obtain further discounts on entrance tickets to many facilities in the area.
    • Buses, boats and sightseeing buses other than those listed in items (1) to (8) above cannot be used with your pass.
    • Boarding a bus outside of the designated area or going beyond the designated areas requires an extra fare.
    • In addition to a regular ticket (or Freepass), a limited express surcharge is required to ride the Odakyu Romancecar.
