Shinjuku Southern Terrace is a lush green area located just outside the south exit of Shinjuku Station, one of Tokyo's main terminals and the station with the largest number of passengers in the world. The area is always bustling with activity and is dotted with a wide variety of restaurants, including bakeries; cafes; Japanese, Italian, and Hong Kong restaurants; and various merchandise stores, furniture stores, and more! During the winter season, Shinjuku Southern Terrace offers a great night view of the Shinjuku area, and is also illuminated with a beautiful light show.
A three-minute walk south of Shinjuku Southern Terrace toward JR Yoyogi Station brings you to Odakyu Southern Tower, which includes Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower. The Tower houses offices, stores, and the hotel. In the lower section of the tower, there are Thai and Vietnamese restaurants, hamburger restaurants, Japanese steak and sukiyaki cuisine, and convenience stores. Meanwhile, the upper section contains the hotel, featuring guest rooms, a bar, various restaurants, and a lounge area.
Odakyu Ace, which consists of a northern and southern building, can be accessed without worrying about getting soaked on rainy days as it is located underground beneath the West Exit at Shinjuku Station. Please be sure to stop by when coming to Shinjuku Station because in addition to offering various activities such as eating at restaurants and cafes and purchasing popular fashion items and the latest goods, there are also duty-free shops as well as stores that accept China UnionPay card where you can enjoy shopping at discounted prices.
In the area between the West Exit and the South Exit of Shinjuku Station, there is a shopping district, which is operated by the Odakyu Group and features Odakyu HALC, Odakyu Department Store, Mosaic Street, Mylord, Southern Terrace, and Hotel Century Southern Tower. Visitors can enjoy vibrant shopping with hotel and gourmet dining experiences, luxury brands, casual fashion and consumer electronics. Shinjuku is home to many popular retailers that are consistently noted in Japanese tourism guidebooks, such as electronics retailers, drugstores, Muji and UNIQLO. There is nothing that you cannot buy in Shinjuku.
Odakyu Department Store is a massive department store connected directly to Shinjuku Station selling foods, cosmetics, and international brand items. There is a wide selection of over 47 famous domestic and international cosmetic brands, and the food section, accessories, and luxury brands are all located close together, making Odakyu Department Store an easy space to shop in. There is also an information desk for foreign tourists on the B1 floor, which offers English and Chinese interpretation services, shopping consultations, duty-free services, and more.
Odakyu HALC houses Bic Camera, an electronics retail store, as well as various cosmetics and both Japanese and Western confectionery stores.
